Founder & President
Tatsuya Daniel
Tatsuya (Tats) Daniel is the founder of TD Orchestra. Currently based in Montreal, Canada, Tats is a percussionist who has played with many music groups throughout the Boston, MA and Providence, RI areas in the USA, including the Brown Wind Symphony, Brown University Orchestra, Kendall Square Orchestra, Concord Orchestra, and the Arlington Philharmonic. In the fall of 2024, he started a band called The God Particle with other physics graduate students at Brown University.
Tats graduated from Brown with his PhD in May 2025, where his research focus was in theoretical astrophysics and cosmology. He received his bachelor's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2020, where he studied physics and math; he played in the MIT Wind Ensemble and MIT Symphony Orchestra during his time at MIT and still works with MIT groups. Currently, Tats is a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University's Trottier Space Institute in Montreal.
Outside of physics and music, Tats is a marathon runner, has traveled to 88 countries across six continents, and can speak 11 different languages.

Administrative Director
Lana Nguyen
Lana Nguyen, a native of San Francisco, California, USA, is the administrative director of TD Orchestra and a driven entrepreneur passionate about developing sustainable healthcare innovation. Currently pursuing a Biology: Physiology and Biotechnology Sc.B degree and an Entrepreneurship certificate at Brown University, she aims to fuse entrepreneurship, medicine, and research to address the needs of vulnerable populations and improve models of care.
Lana actively mentors and empowers minority youths through her role as the Program Director of the Young Entrepreneurship Program @ Brown and Vice President of YEP National. Additionally, she is the Co-founder of SupplyHopeInfo, a non-profit organization that has fundraised over $60,000 to provide free academic supplies to over 4,000 low-income students across the United States.

Operations Lead
Charlotte Wickert
Charlotte Wickert is a graduate student studying nuclear science and engineering at MIT, where her research is focused on computational reactor physics. She plays keyboard for TD Orchestra and has been a part of the group since 2021. At MIT, she is involved in the MIT Wind Ensemble, where she plays flute and serves as President. She also acts, plays flute, and orchestra directs, for MIT Musical Theater Guild Productions.
Outside of music, Charlotte tutors middle school students in math through MIT SHINE* and serves on the board of an education non-profit called CovEducation. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, rock climbing, reading, crocheting, and knitting.

Finance Lead
Ellie Murphy-Weise
Ellie Murphy-Weise is a mezzo-soprano, choral conductor, and musicologist on a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship researching contemporary opera around the world. She graduated from Wellesley College in May 2023 with degrees in Music and International Relations, where she directed the Wellesley College Tupelos a cappella group and sang in Collegium Musicum.
Ellie has been part of TD Orchestra since October 2023, assisting with finance and operations, and previously worked in development for the San Francisco Ballet. Outside of music, she is an avid distance runner, Youtuber, and Golden State Warriors fan.

Partner Relations Lead
Kelly Lin
Kelly Lin is a bassoonist and undergraduate student at Brown University, where she is studying computer engineering and behavioral decision sciences. She has been part of TD Orchestra since October 2023, assisting with partner relations, and she plays bassoon in the Brown University Orchestra.
Previously, she was editor-in-chief of a local newspaper and head coach of a middle school robotics club. Outside of music, she enjoys learning random facts, storytelling, reading, solving puzzles, and crafting.

Music Administrator
Dana Lee
Dana Lee is a recent music honors/computer science graduate from Brown University who has delved into all sorts of music activities - from conducting the Brown University Band, chamber orchestra, and BOP's pit orchestra (A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder and On the Town), to playing both classical and jazz-funk clarinet (Em's Femmes and Brown Jazz Jams), composing full orchestral pieces based in Korean traditions and culture, and teaching/assisting in various music theory courses (via Wave Learning Festival/the Brown Music Department, respectively).
Throughout her music journey, Dana's goal has always been to have fun with friends - after all, what is music without the people and stories involved? She is currently located in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and in addition to being the music administrator for TD Orchestra, she is involved with the New England Film Orchestra and Horizon Ensemble.

Cultural Coordinator
Jeanelle Wheeler
Jeanelle Wheeler is an educator, activist, musician, and writer from near Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. Since graduating from Brown University with a degree in French and Francophone Studies and Literary Arts as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching, she has taught around the world, teaching English in France and Germany, and working in Latin America for EF Gap Year programs on sustainable development.
Currently, Jeanelle is a board member of RYSE (Refugee Youth Solidarity through Education) and is working on a place-based learning, social justice curricular research project through the University of New Hampshire and the National Endowment for the Humanities. After playing clarinet in many ensembles during her time at Brown, Jeanelle has continued to play clarinet, alto saxophone, and sing in local music groups. She loves bringing people together through music and is so excited by TD Orchestra's mission of access to music education and intercultural exchange through musical collaboration.

Operations and Personnel Manager
Kyle Graham
Kyle Graham, a Southern California native, is a percussionist who graduated from the University of Maryland in 2024 majoring in Percussion Performance with a minor in Astronomy. As a musician, Kyle has performed in many locations throughout Southern California and the Washington D.C. Area, as well as performing on tours to New York and Austria. During the summer of 2023, Kyle traveled to New York to complete a summer internship in Artistic Programming at Lincoln Center.
Kyle has been a member of TD Orchestra since 2020, and currently serves as part of the orchestra’s operations and personnel management team.

Finance and Development
Truman Qu
Truman Qu is an undergraduate student studying finance at Columbia University. Having taken lessons in violin and piano for over 8 years, he finds himself as a lyric tenor today. Truman taught music classes in remote villages in western China while he was in high school. He started college as a vocal performance major studying bel canto, and placed in various local and national competitions such as NATS, before transitioning to finance.
In his free time, Truman enjoys studying equity markets and poker theory. Truman has been a part of TD Orchestra since October 2023, assisting with finance tasks.
