In October 2023, TD Orchestra began a cultural exchange with German students and teachers from Architects of Music, an association based in Dresden. Regular Zoom sessions are held between TD Orchestra members from the US and German students.

 

From March 23-31, 2024, TD Orchestra traveled to Dresden to further the exchange with German students, teachers and professional musicians - to premiere new music by Tatsuya Daniel with them in Germany, visit German schools and universities, engage in interdisciplinary workshops, outreach and other networking events, and to give research presentations. Among the new partnerships emerging from the March tour are a collaboration with one of the largest high schools in Dresden (Gymnasium Plauen) which will include a mentorship program for its students by TD members, a local organization called "Musaik" which provides after-school music lessons to children from low-income backgrounds, and a medical company which specializes in developing pacemakers.

 

Moreover, TD Orchestra traveled to Prague, Czech Republic to record a music video and short film in March 2024. In June 2025, TD Orchestra plans to return to Germany for a bigger tour, bringing more of its members to visit multiple cities (Dresden, Bochum, Saarbrücken) as well as other European countries, including Norway, France and the Czech Republic.

 

Architects of Music currently has a program in Kampala, Uganda to teach music to the community, like TD Orchestra. The two initiatives in Uganda have partnered, and future engagements in Germany will help fundraise for the organizations’ initiatives in Uganda.
